Convergence Estimates for Essentially Positive Type Discrete Dirichlet Problems
In this paper we consider a class of difference approximations to the Dirichlet problem for second-order elliptic operators with smooth coefficients. The main result is that if the order of accuracy of the approximate problem is v, and F (the right-hand side) and/ (the boundary values) both belong to Cx for X < v, then the rate of convergence is 0(hx).
متن کاملEssentially Positive Tensors
The Perron-Frobenius Theorem for irreducible higher order tensors does not guarantee simplicity of the unique positive eigenvalue nor does it guarantee the unique positive eigenvalue is strictly larger than the modulus of any other eigenvalue. Irreducibility of a tensor in relation to a graph is studied. A higher order tensor is essentially positive if it takes the positive cone to its interior...
متن کاملHarmonic Polynomials and Dirichlet-Type Problems
We take a new approach to harmonic polynomials via differentiation. Surprisingly powerful results about harmonic functions can be obtained simply by differentiating the function |x|2−n and observing the patterns that emerge. This is one of our main themes and is the route we take to Theorem 1.7, which leads to a new proof of a harmonic decomposition theorem for homogeneous polynomials (Corollar...
متن کاملUniform stability estimates for the discrete Calderon problems
In this article, we focus on the analysis of discrete versions of the Calderón problem in dimension d ≥ 3. In particular, our goal is to obtain stability estimates for the discrete Calderón problems that hold uniformly with respect to the discretization parameter. Our approach mimics the one in the continuous setting. Namely, we shall prove discrete Carleman estimates for the discrete Laplace o...
متن کاملA priori convergence estimates for a rough Poisson-Dirichlet problem with natural vertical boundary conditions
Stents are medical devices designed to modify blood flow in aneurysm sacs, in order to prevent their rupture. Some of them can be considered as a locally periodic rough boundary. In order to approximate blood flow in arteries and vessels of the cardio-vascular system containing stents, we use multi-scale techniques to construct boundary layers and wall laws. Simplifying the flow we turn to cons...
